Ranking methodology

Every score comes from facts we checked on official pages (most recently on 2026-10-15). We don't use invented ratings, review scores or user numbers. Total: 100 points.

Factor	Points	Rule
Free tier	30	30 if a free tier or free plan is confirmed on the official pricing page, otherwise 0.
Entry price	25	25 × (1 − cheapest paid plan ÷ $50), with a minimum of 0. $0 (usage-only) gets 25. Unconfirmed price ("check site") gets 0. GBP/EUR prices are converted approximately (×1.27 / ×1.1).
Platforms / surfaces	20	5 per confirmed surface (web, desktop, iOS, Android, IDE, CLI, API, self-host), capped at 20.
Release recency	25	25 if we have a sourced release within the last 30 days, 15 if within 31–60 days, otherwise 0.

Limitations

The rubric measures access and value, not output quality. Use the quiz and use-case pages for fit.
Missing data scores 0, so tools with blocked or unclear pricing pages (marked "check site") rank lower until verified.
Affiliate status never affects the score.
